Last winter, my cousin went to my brother's house to take these pictures. The children were sleeping when she arrived. (The pictures are fuzzy and out of focus.)
My niece Gabriela (age 5 at the time) and nephew Andrei (age 2). Ipotesti, 2008. This is their bed. They sleep on a wooden flat covered by a large rug. I cried.

My little nephew, Cristian (age 1 at the time). Ipotesti, 2008.
He is sleeping on a rug and has a rug for a blanket. To see this sweet little baby boy (almost the same age as my own boy) sleeping with nothing but rugs for warmth made me cry.
My brother Nicu and his wife Mihaela. They all sleep in the same room as well as eat in there. They have minimal belongings and barely any necessities. My cousin said that the inside of the house is in really bad shape and they have nothing. My goal is to purchase bedding and blankets for them as well as clothes and shoes and any other necessities they need. Hopefully I can leave them with enough food to last through the winter.
All of us at my mother's funeral. Ipotesti, June 1986.

My baby picture. The very first picture I have ever seen of myself as a baby.
